Ebony Blackley attended Applecross’s Gifted and Talented Visual Arts program graduating with the State Subject Exhibition Award for Art and Design. When leaving school her tutor’s advice was, “Go learn life’s lessons and then paint about them”.
At age twenty with a broken neck and shattered spirits her crash course in life began. For a long time a darkness hovered as she was trapped in thought concerning past and future. Ebony Blackley’s recovery took hold when she began
painting from a meditative state of “no mind”. The years since have strengthened her resolve to honour each moment and you are invited to participate in her painted experience.
In 2018 Blackley held her first solo exhibition “Frame of No Mind’’. A well received collection of paintings and photographs exploring mindfulness and painting intuitively.
